Kevin Boyd is the Director of Comics Guest Relations for Fan Expo HQ, and last week we talked all things comics, as well as all the Fan Expo comic shows across Canada and the United States. There are 16 in total. There’s also a 17th show which he doesn’t do and that’s VidCon Anaheim. Right now, at the time of publishing this interview, Kevin is busy running the comics side of things at the fourth annual Fan Expo San Francisco (Nov.28 - Nov.30, 2025).

Boyd gives us the rundown on the history of Fan Expo shows, how he got involved and to where they are today. He also talks about how comics taught him how to read, the creator who made the most impact on him as a young person, running a comic book store, the Joe Shuster Awards, and a whole lot more comics goodness. Plus, what he defines as his “comics bible.” Whether you’re in Canada, the States or elsewhere, you may not know Boyd is the co-founder and Director of the JOE SHUSTER AWARDS (Canadian Comic Book Creator Awards) aptly named after the Canadian co-creator and original artist of Superman, Joe Shuster. The one thing I aboslutely enjoy about Boyd is his vast knowledge of all things comics and comic book related. He is a true comics aficionado and one of the nicest people in the business. On this note, go ahead and hit play to watch and listen to our interview now.
